The current projects within the Business Club of the RAF present a combination of courage and thoughtfulness.

At present time, the leadership of the Business Club has a list of businesses which are sponsoring the Federation. The sponsorship is based not on material investments, but on discounts on the services that are in demand among the members of the Federation. Thus, a membership fee of a hundred dollars a year is returned tenfold by these benefits.

This business approach is not only a reward system, but also the mail principle of the business policy of the Federation. There are certain structures that help in organizing business, and they are very numerous. Yet, nobody is going to force or pamper you. It's business. Therefore, the decision to become a member of the Business Club must be well thought through and based on the consideration that if you need help, you will get it, however, you should always be ready to provide help to others.

The Business Club is officially inviting all the representatives of small and medium business. This invitation can be considered a formality since the Business Club, as well as the Federation itself, is an organization for everybody, not just for privileged individuals.

One of the principles of the work of the Business Club is the concept of team spirit in solving difficult problems. For example, at present time, we are considering cooperation with an attorney firm whose service is not affordable for separate businessmen, but quite reasonable for a group of people that combine their material means. The same can be said about financial services. Solving issues as a team is already bringing its positive results.

The next step in developing "Russian business" in Atlanta is opening the Chamber of Commerce. This question has been under consideration for a long time. Needless to say, it's not going to be the last step since such an organization as the Chamber of Commerce will put the "Russian business" on a higher level and make it more stable and secure.

The Chamber of Commerce is going to enable business contacts with Chambers of Commerce from different cities of the USA, Europe, Russia, Ukrain and other countries.

Ideally, the Chamber of Commerce is an organization that serves to meet the demands of enterprises, companies, and firms united by a general concept, for example, our Russian-American Federation.

The Chamber of Commerce conducts local forums to discuss questions arousing general interest. It also provides different services for its members, especially small and medium business owners. First of all, it's the information about local and nationwide opportunities for the expansion of business. This information is provided by the Department of Trade and Industry only to serious organizations representing interests of groups of businessmen, such as the Chamber of Commerce.

Needless to say, the Russian-speaking businessmen of Atlanta would rather have such an institution as the Chamber of Commerce than separately invent a bicycle and learn how to ride it.

The next point in the long list of plans of the Business Club is the opening of a bank. The Business Club is ready to devote itself to the realization of this complicated and serious project demanding considerable financial investments. It takes a lot of work, but the benefits that the Russian-speaking community is going to get form its own bank will justify the effort.

Almost all ethnic communities of Atlanta, such as Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and Hispanic, have their own banks which are well aware of the situation in their community and, therefore, can function with guaranteed success and efficiency. The fact that small, medium and large business owners can get loans, an additional supplement for their business, is very important.

The first step in creation of our own bank is uniting the Russian-speaking businessmen for establishing a strong financial partnership. Any bank benefits from a group client, plus a group can always count on receiving a low-interest loan.

The success of all these changes and progress in general depends on how well each of us understands the necessity of these projects.
