    Social Club

The work of the Social Department of the RAF presents a very substantial list of activities meeting everyday needs of the Russian-speaking community.

Of course, there are still a lot of issues that have to be solved, but the leadership of the Federation is neither intimidated nor stopped by this fact.

A systematic approach to the solution of these issues is the main principle of the work of this department.

The main goal of the department is to provide an equal opportunity for every person who just arrived in the US so that the reality matched the expectations that they had prior to the arrival.

The Social Department is in charge of organizing free classes of the Russian language for children that recently arrived in the US as well as those who were born here. Russian-speaking residents don't want to lose their cultural and language heritage. However, sometimes they don't have a chance to teach their children due to the lack of time or money. As a result, they find themselves in a vicious circle- reluctant to lose, but unable to keep. Free classes are a perfect solution to this problem, especially given the fact that they are conducted voluntarily by native Russian speakers having a teaching background.

There is one more problem that needs to be solved - taking care of the elderly and the veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Their relocation to a different country doesn't diminish their merits and accomplishments by any means. We still owe them a lot. Helping our senior citizens and war veterans must be systematic and well-rounded.

The Russian-speaking community is open for business cooperation and everyday communication. Therefore, the Social Club is engaged in establishing a contact with other communities of Atlanta. Sharing ideas and experience is a big help to people that are just beginning their life in the US and facing the same difficulties that long-term residents have already overcome.

It's very difficult to name priorities in the work of the Social Department because social needs and problems can not be divided into primary and secondary. The Social Club takes its every task very seriously.

No doubt, there are no limits to help that is provided by the Federation to people who have a hard time adjusting to the new life and reality. It doesn't matter if these people are members of the RAF or not. Both the Russian-American Federation and its Social Club base their work on this principle.

The Social Club will systematically inform you about its plans and projects on this site.
